‘Lucia Condrea’ Egg Museum

Lucia Condrea is an artist from Moldovita, internationally recognized for her passion and dedication to egg decoration. She has become one of the most valuable artists in this field thanks to her constant work. For over 30 years she has participated in international exhibitions and received awards and prizes for her efforts. In addition, the artist has developed her own style, so that she decorates eggs in 14 innovative techniques, which today belong to the Condrea Art®.

The “Lucia Condrea” Egg Museum has exhibits in 116 showcases and is the only museum of decorated eggs in the world. Its structure is as follows: the works of the artist Lucia Condrea, old eggs, collected from places once inhabited by the Hutsuls, and the international collection. The painted egg thus becomes not only a symbol of Easter, but also an established element of Bukovina traditions. Lucia Condrea is a collaborator of the Union of Artists of Romania, Iasi branch, and officially founded the museum in 2007. Through this museum, Lucia Condrea has saved treasure pieces of the Hutsuls people that will remain to future generations as artistic heritage.
