TURȚ LOCAL MUSEUM

The Turț local museum is, in fact, a household consisting of a house and a barn. The house, built in 1920, was moved from the neighboring village of Gherța Mare, bought from Vasile Filimon. It is a typical construction of the ramshackle village of Ugocea county, composed of two rooms, an awning and a pantry. The foundation of the house is made of broken and calcareous stone, brought from the stone quarry in the area, having along its entire length a porch supported by oak pillars, carved with geometric motifs. The roof is tiled.

The front room is furnished with a chest, a table, a showcase type sideboard, a wardrobe (cabinet built into the wall). The back room exhibits textiles, weaving objects and their accessories, decorative objects, painted icons and paintings, but also Vama ceramics. Agricultural tools once used for peasant field work are stored in the farm shed.
