His artistic creations fall into the literary current of symbolism. The poet Ady Endre died on January 27, 1919 in Budapest.
The “Ady Endre” Memorial Complex was inaugurated on November 22, 1957, at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the poet’s death, through the efforts of the artist Aurel Popp. Also then, the name of the Mecențiu locality was changed to Ady Endre. The museum consists of two buildings, the parental house and the mansion. The cottage was built in the middle of the 18th century and consists of a porch and two rooms. The Ady family mansion was completed in 1911 and has a living room, two rooms — named “Ady Endre” and “Ady Lajos” — a hall, a kitchen and a veranda. Furniture items, volumes of the poet’s work, publications, photographs, newspapers and other commemorative items are exhibited.
