PETREȘTI ETHNOGRAPHY SECTION

Placed in the natural area of Petrești forest, the Ethnography Section belongs to the Museum of Vrancea. The outdoor exhibition consists of 73 structures, grouped into complexes, and it has over 6000 pieces. The museum’s structure has two plans: the households with tools and rural installations and the constructions of large interest.

In this regard, one can virtually visit three of the buildings of large interest: the two-floor inn, the school with old-wooden benches and the mayor’s office. This section was inaugurated in 1977 from the desire to preserve the ethnographic heritage of Vrancea County. In total, it encompasses 24 monument houses and types of households divided into specific areas and nine technical installations.
