‘LADA CU ZESTRE’ ETHNOGRAPHIC COLLECTION
The museum was founded at the initiative of Iustin Lehonschi, a youngman who wanted to borrow folklore costumes when he was around 14 years old but couldn’ find any. Thus, Iustin started to collect and buy things that belonged to ancestors, in order to preserve and promote them. The collection was first displayed at Iustin’s place and, in 2018, the local authorities offered him the building of a former elementary school.
The building has two main rooms, the first one illustrating the household of the Romanian peasant, with rural activities (carpentry, weaving, sheeping, agriculture) and the second one is dedicated to the Romanian folklore costume. Among the items exhibited here there is a costume representative to Miron Costin village, according to the details on the fabrics. The last room is a smaller one and reunites objects of two fields: the religious area, related to spirituality and the war area, with military objects. The Ethnographic collection has more than 3000 items.
