‘EUSEBIU CAMILAR’ MEMORIAL HOUSE

The house in the centre of the Udesti village is the place where the writer Eusebiu Camilar (1910-1965) was born. He wrote on several occasions that he lived in a poor and large family.

After he went to the ‘Școala poporală’ in Udești, he went to high school in Suceava and after that he dropped out of school due to the fact that his family was poor. However, in 1929 he debuted with the poem ‘Cetatea mea’ and continued to create. He had a modest living, worked as a publicist and then he was promoted in leading positions. Eusebiu Camilar devoted himself to poetry, prose, dramaturgy and translation.
