‘Colțișorul meu de altădată’ Museum

The house where Teodora Panainte’s great-grandparents lived has been receiving visitors since July 2020. Teodora was the one who insisted on keeping the house, rather than demolishing it, as it is customary these days. The museum started with two carpets, an icon and a loom. After that, Teodora started to gather items from other villages to be kept in this house: traditional towels, weaving tools, shirts, rugs etc.

In the two chambers and the central hallway, ‘Colțișorul meu de altădată’ protects an image of the past. The house was built between 1934 and 1935. Its blue woodwork makes it special among the houses nearby. Apart from her hospitality, Teodora is receiving her guests with: some of her great-grandparent’s stories, fairytales of her childhood and details of rural life.
